Please Don’t Tell Me I Attracted This

I’m a firm believer in Law of Attraction. I also believe that what shows up in my life I’ve attracted either through conscious thought or by default.

When I was first discovering the Law of Attraction, it was fascinating, yet I found a part of me using it in the same way I had used the guilt from religious upbringing.

I found myself in an unwanted situation and my inner dialogue was telling me I had attracted this or someone might say to me, “Well you know you attracted that somehow.”

Even though, I believe this is true it didn’t make me feel any better. In fact if made me feel worse, because now I was judging myself harshly for “attracting” this unwanted situation into my life.

So, I’ll ask you. If you believe you attract what’s in your life and then something you swear you don’t want shows up do you ever find yourself judging yourself for what’s showing up.

It may be true, but if it doesn’t feel good to tell yourself this, then it’s a really good place to take a breath and notice the judgement behind this.

By noticing this, and releasing the judgement that comes with this, you can begin to free yourself from your inner critic and just remind yourself that you can attract by default. This might seem simplistic, but it’s really helped me to come to more self acceptance.

I believe the doorway to freedom from the emotional ties that bind you and keep you stuck is self acceptance.

The more self acceptance you have the more likely you are to realize that what’s keeping you stuck is the limiting beliefs that got installed in your psyche years ago. You were innocent when this happened.

Would you punish a child who learned to limit themselves because they learned it wasn’t safe to break out? But this is what we do to ourselves all the time.

So next time you or someone you know tells you, “You attracted this”….take a breath and a step back and remind yourself that you’ve attracted by default. It’s amazingly simple, but it’s a step on the path to better self acceptance….something I believe we could all use more of.
