Are You Racing Through Life? – Enjoy the Journey

This past weekend I was in Boulder, CO and on Sunday morning my daughter and I got up early to make the trek back to New Mexico. With minimal stops it is about a six and a half hour drive.

I noticed that something had shifted in me because I decided that the drive is the journey and the journey is time out of my life that I’ll never get back, so I set the intention to enjoy the journey and take my time. My daughter was up for this as well. So off we went.

Ten hours later we pulled into the driveway of our home and normally, I’d be strung out from racing to get home, but I wasn’t. I had enjoyed the journey and I wasn’t hellbent on just getting to my destination, so I was in a happy and relaxed state when we got home.

It was amazing

While on our journey, we stopped in Colorado Springs for two hours and had tea and ate and just enjoyed hanging out and watching the early Sunday morning activities of bikers, hikers and people living life.

Once we got back on the road, I had a thought, and my daughter voiced it. We wanted to get off the highway and onto a backroad that would take us through Taos, where we used to live. So we took the backroads and it was gorgeous, and again, we enjoyed the journey.

I’ve also come to the conclusion, that if I don’t feel inspired, I’m not doing the thing I’m having to convince or motivate myself to do. I want to flex my inspiration muscle, because I know it’s atrophied over decades of lack of use. I also want to infuse my life and my business with inspiration and I felt happy and inspired Sunday, enjoying the journey… that is my life, with my daughter alongside.

It’s so worth it.
