These Two Words Can Change Your Life

If you’ve ever found yourself in a negative mindset and you want to shift it, but you’re not exactly in the position to breakout tapping, here’s a simple and effective way to help you shift yourself to a better feeling place.

It starts with two simple and yet very powerful words.

Are you ready?

Here they are….

WHAT IF?

In Tapping, What if statements are a very effective way to ease your thoughts to a better feeling place.

Years ago, I felt so stuck in negative thinking and felt completely incapable of eeking out a positive thought. I would fall asleep, but low and behold, my bewitching hour was 2:00am-ish. I would wake up with a string of negative, anxious thoughts.

The really frustrating part was that I had read copious amounts of personal development books. Many to do with the power of positive thinking.

You know the drill:

Thoughts are Things.

Think Good Thoughts and You’ll Get Good Results.

Whether You Think You Can or You Can’t You’re Right.

GAAAH!!!!

These types of thoughts were only compounding the problem for me. I just ended up doubling down on myself with self-criticism. This had me feeling worse, which created more negative thoughts, more anxiety and more pressure about how screwed I was if I didn’t start to think positive really soon.

GAAAH!!!!

What I understand now, that I was clueless to back then was this….

I was reaching for thoughts that were out of reach for my current psyche.

I was in despair and I was “trying” to think positive. It was just more pressure. What finally ended up happening, after I saw how my stress was impacting my health, is I was able to talk myself into just taking a baby step.

I started to look for one thing each day to feel some gratitude for. I’m talking really small like….That guy let me into traffic. The bank teller smiled at me.

Without know it, I was actually starting to ease myself to a better feeling place. This was a lot more doable and why it ended up working.

This is the power of WHAT IF?

When you are feeling any emotion that feels bad, try statements like this:

What if things are working out for me?

What if there’s a solution to this and I’ll see it soon?

What if I just need to work on easing my stress a little and then the answer I need will come?

What if I don’t have to figure this out right now?

What if all is truly well?

What if I’m exactly where I need to be?

What if I can start to feel a little better right now?

What if the answer I need is on it’s way to me?

What if things are going to work out?

These statements interrupt the thoughts that are creating the feelings you’re having that you don’t like. At the same time, they are actually helping to train your brain to follow a negative thought with a positive thought.

And the beauty is you can do these anytime, anywhere, quietly to yourself without ever having to tap. If you want to add tapping while you say these statements that’s great. You add a little turbo charge to them, but you don’t need to.

It’s a simple and effective tool to use to help you ease yourself away from the negative thoughts and emotions you’re having and towards better feeling thoughts and then of course better feelings.

It really helps to take the pressure off of the belief that if you “Just think happy thoughts everything will go better for you.”

Now mind you, it’s true that happy thoughts create happy results but when you’re not even in the ballpark of a happy thought you can’t reach them. So try the WHAT IF questions and see how you feel how this works for you.

Here to You!!!
