Step 4 – Getting Clear on Your Value

Getting clear on your value is a key part in changing your life.

I find most of us kinda, sorta, maybe know that we have certain skills, talents and abilities, but don’t really own them.

If this sounds familiar, then I’m guessing it resonates as true for you.

Here’s an exercise that can assist you in beginning to really get clear on all the value you have to offer.

If you did Step Three and have a notebook you used, you can use that. The other option is to get the Value Journal that’s part of my Take the Big Leap Free Video Series on my website. That can help stimulate some ways to get in touch with your value if you feel a bit stuck doing this on your own.

Now for your Mission, should you decide to accept it.

Begin to write down any skills you’ve acquired over the years: education, training, years of experience in varies jobs or businesses, life skills you’ve acquired and really take stock of all the Value you’ve gained over the years.

I can pretty much guarantee you’re going to start hearing the Bully chatting and punching holes in your skill set. The good news is, this shows you where you have resistance and it’s your roadmap for what to tap on.

Next, write down your character traits, personality benefits. An example is, you’re always willing to help someone when they ask. Take note of this really great character trait you have but then I want you to go a bit deeper.

Ask yourself if you’re doing these things because you really desire to, or do you feel pressure, or guilt or obligation. If any of this “sticky” feelings are involved then I recommend you tap and work to clean up your energy around this so that if you chose to help others, you’re doing it from a clean and clear desire.

If you say Yes when you really want to say No, it’s a lose-lose. You lose and they lose because of the energy around it. I know personally this takes practice to begin to say No when you mean No and say Yes when you feel Yes but the more you practice, the easier it gets and you have tapping to assist you along the way.

Think about it this way, you do a disservice to the other person if you say yes when you want to say no and you are of service to the other person when you’re congruent with you decision to help and it comes from a desire.

You are Valuing You and that’s everything.

This exercise can be very transformative in that you begin to honor you. You begin to Value You. The Most Important Person in Your Life.

Keep this as a Living Document and add to it any time you think of something.

Here’s to Getting Clear on Your Value.
