Is It Possible You’re In Survival Mode?

Are there any areas of your life where you feel like you’re holding your breath with worry?

What I mean by this: Is there an area of your life that when you really think about it, you’re doing your best just to keep your head above water?

Here’s a way to check this out:

You’re rolling along with your day and suddenly a thought pops into your head and you’re energy sinks. You start to feel bad. That’s a really good indicator that this is something you’re in survival mode about.

Let’s go with Money, because this seems to be a Universal Stressor.

You hop on-line to pay your bills. You’re ambivalent at best. You login to your bank account and you see the balance and you’re immediately in shock and you hold your breath.

Or you are hyper conscious of the balance and every day throughout the day, you have a low grade fever of energy, so when you’re at the store and you’re about to spend money, you’re hyper conscious of how much your spending and how “little” will be left. This is survival mode.

Now lets go with your Relationships, another Universal Stressor.

They pop into your head. Crap!!! How’d they get in there again? OMG!!! You seethe with anger, or your energy dips into sadness. You feel anxiety, because you just can’t seem to get ahead of this one. You’re constantly in Relationship Repair Mode.

Let me explain this. I had someone say to me recently that she feels like she ends up in repair mode in her relationship with her partner. Just when she lets her guard down something happens and she’s back to spending days recovering and repairing from what’s happened.

Ever feel this way? This is survival mode.

If you look at the different areas of your life, is there an area that when you really look at it, you’re surviving, not thriving?

Now the next key is do your best not to judge yourself for it and how you do this is to notice it first. Notice your self talk. (I say this a lot.) When we judge ourselves we hold things in place.

What you’re really getting is information. That’s it… really!!

It’s information to show you where you might be off track and the beauty about understanding that you’re off track…..you can get back on track.

Now you have your roadmap on what to tap on, and try the following.

Tapping for Being in Survival Mode

Even though I see that I’m in survival mode, in this area of my life, I accept myself anyway.

Even though I see it. I’m in survival mode about my __________________. I chose to acknowledge that I feel this way.

Even though, I’ve got this survival mode thing going on in my ___________, I accept my feelings now.

I’m in survival mode ~ I feel it ~ I’m disappointed in myself for being in survival mode ~ I’m really judging myself for this ~ I didn’t quite put that together until now ~ At least I’m seeing it now ~ That’s a start ~ I learned to be in survival mode a long time ago ~ And it’s showing up in my ______.

I’ve been holding my breath ~ Wanting things to change ~ It fills me up with anxiety when I think about it ~ So I do my best not to think about it ~ And what if I can make that okay ~ What if I can ease up on myself a bit ~ What if it’s true, I’m doing the best I can ~ What if I can release a little of my judgement ~ A little of my disappointment ~ And actually consider being a little grateful I’m seeing it now ~ What if it will actually help me to move through this more quickly by releasing some of the judgement ~ Let me try this again now ~ I’m in survival mode ~ So what ~ I’m in survival mode ~ So what ~ I’m aware of it now ~ And awareness is always the first step to shifting something ~ I’m aware ~ I’m tapping on it right now ~ And this is the beginning of releasing being in survival mode ~ And it’s a great place to start.

Keep tapping on this as many times as you need to until you feel this lighten up for you.

Here’s to Releasing!
